Architect's Residence

Camano Island, Washington - Custom Home

This home was designed by David Pelletier. The garage of this home is ingeniously designed, and finished with fine details that mesh with rest of the house. It's dramatic shed roofline allows room for large mullioned windows which let natural light into the space.

Embracing the spirit of Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian ideals the Pelletier home stays modest. It's a three bedroom house with a simple, highly functional floor plan that uses inexpensive but appealing finishes. The central shared space is compact and well lit, with a contemporary danish stove to keep the space warm. Double glass doors lead to a deck that overlooks the water.

The exterior has board and batten siding with a gracious wooden arbor over the entry way. The arbor is planted with wisteria to ease the transition from outside in. It was constructed to merge the house with the landscape, connecting the ground to the roofline.
